Red Rocks climbing gym

It was a little windy and cold so we decided to check out the local gym. This is me chillin out on their cool stalactite feature, smack dab in the middle of their bolted ceiling! One of the coolest indoor climbs I have ever done!

Fremont St.

Full with lobster Shane and I explore the famous Fremont St, which is only a few blocks walk away from our sleazy motel which we got for $140 a week! Got to love Vegas.

That's right. At the Vegas Club casino they have a lobster claw game, where for $2 you can win a lobster that they cook for you! You know we gave it a try.

On a side note I blew the anchors with the slack out and took a 20ft plus whipper. Probably the second biggest fall I've taken!

So we are in Hollywood hanging out with our friend Jamie at her job which is the Record Plant studio. Just met Robin Thick and Farrell is on the way.

Left the storm in Bishop for the sunny skies of L.A. In Hollywood now about to enjoy a Pink's famous chili dog for breakfast!

Snagged today in the "Free Box" at the campground; detergent, paper towels, National Geographic mag and a bag of mixed candy with only Heath bars left!

Rest day

Enjoying a rest day at one of the many hot springs surrounding Bishop.

This is the Cave problem a V4 on the back side of the Grandpa boulder at the Buttermilks. It is pretty easy going till you have to stick a heinous sloper. I didn't send on this take but the next day it went on the first go. Lillian, notice the repping of the Sportrock shirt!

Feeling bummed

So after taking two days off to let our finger tips harden for our first day at the Buttermilks, I some how strained my back in my sleep! It hurts to take deep breaths and range of motion is limited. How I did this I don't know, but am taking a third rest day in hopes that the pain dissipates enough to climb tomorrow.

Someone left a bag of fortune cookies in the "free box" at camp! Shane and I have done most of the cookie fortunes. Guess they are really past cookies.

Stayed at a Motel 6 in Oakland with a gate kiosk and security guard. Some how I didn't feel safer.

Here is Tommy's partner, Kevin Jorgeson, another accomplished high ball boulder climber. Tommy and Kevin have been working on freeing the old aid route of Mescalito on El Capitan. Other notable climber sightings was Dean Potter at Camp 4.

Great day at Momentum gym in SLC! The nicest gym we have been in. Shane sent his first 5.10 indoors and is ready to tackle the outdoors.

Just finished a long day of killing it at Keystone Mt. Shane looked like a pro while I spent most of the time on my bum, which is probably why it hurts SO much.
